  Sequim Bible Church
“A caring congregation nurturing spiritual growth and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ.”
I Corinthians 13:13b but the greatest of these is love.

We urge people to choose one of our small group Bible studies.

The foundation of our groups is the study of God's Word. It is the light for our journey through. We read it, we believe it, we contemplate it, we endeavor to apply it! Each small group meeting consists of three components: Bible study, conversational prayer and fellowship. Take these three ingredients, mix thoroughly and the results are life-long relationships. This is as it should be, since we Christians will be spending Eternity together.

Our goal is to keep our groups small. Large groups focus on the teacher, small groups focus on the people. Eight people is the ideal group size. Communication is hindered unless every member of the group can share in every meeting. When our groups grow beyond twelve people, it is time to think about dividing the group and growing two new groups.

Every small group should have three components: Bible Study, prayer, and fellowship.

  • Bible Study: Discuss the verses in their context, acknowledge differences of opinion, don't foster fruitless arguments.
  • Prayer: Short sentence conversational prayers are best. Don't monopolize the session. Everyone does not have to pray for every request. Make sure people know that they don't have to pray aloud. Many of us learned to pray be listening to others. For some of us it takes a while to get there.
  • Fellowship: Refreshments shared during fellowship should be minimal. Take care to not let refreshments become a competition between members for the biggest and the greatest.
  • The Objective: The main objective is to enjoy each other and build life-long relationships within the unity of our shared faith. We need each other. The World will not embrace us but Jesus will. Let's be good to each other as we faithfully grow in the Lord.
